Most websites were originally designed to fit a 800x600 pixel monitor screen, but most new computer monitors now come preset to 1024x768 pixels or higher. If you don't know what these are, it doesn't really matter.
If you're having trouble reading the screen, you can usually alter the monitor screen to display a different screen resolution to make things easier to read. It's quite easy to do and you can't damage anything. If you alter the setting and you don't like it, you can just put it back to the original setting.
Your computer may not have all these sizes, and may have a completely different set of sizes. If you've got an expensive monitor, you may have even higher resolutions.
To make the screen easier to read, you need to lower the size a notch, which will make everything look bigger.
You can also get to these setting by:
Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings then move the Screen Resolution slider, and you can do this while your surfing.
Once you've done it, you can try all the sizes to see which one you prefer. If you know of anyone who uses a computer and has poor eyesight, make sure to mention this to them as it's surprising how many surfers don't know about this.
